Introduction
Is there a place for co-working in a rural community? I have been watching the evolution of co-working in cities and have wondered if a similar model could work in our local community.
I tried a twitter search for rural co-working and joined the Google Coworking Group ...
I found this article on How To Start A Rural Coworking Community. The article talks about the following steps:
- Building a community before selecting a space
- Identify the needs of rural entrepreneurs
- Seek out diverse professions and entrepreneurs
- Collaborate with local governments and businesses
The Hatherleigh Community Plan (section 8.11) talks about the idea of a "training centre", but there is "currently no identified investment for this type of facility".
I would love to hear from people with similar ideas. Please email or tweet me with your thoughts.
